Overview The book is divided into three sections, with the first section providing a thorough introduction to the structure, function and pathophysiology of the nervous system, as well as concise explanations of motor control, motor learning and motor development.

Strengths Provides a thorough grounding in neuroanatomy and pathophysiology. Excellent summaries of neurological conditions encountered in both adults and children. Good structure within the chapters, with clear summaries, learning objectives and review questions. High number of pertinent illustrations and photographs within the book. Useful online resource that allows a clinician to download and print the illustrations on interventions and positioning. Weaknesses A small number of the photographed instructions for certain transfers and interventions in the adult section are dated and include techniques that some therapists would not be comfortable using or teaching.
